    The spring sports schedule is in full swing and the Kimball High golf team finally got some action. They were at the Mitchell Tournament this past Tuesday and because of our early deadline for printing, we will have the story on this action in next week’s sports, along with the results of the Bridgeport Tournament being held today, April 13.     Terry Galloway, an auditor from Almquist, Maltzahn, Galloway and Luth, CPA, presented an unmodified report to the Kimball City Council at the March 21 council meeting. “What you have received here is an unmodified report,” Galloway said. “Which is the highest level of assurance you can receive from an independent audit firm, so congratulations.     As the school year nears an end, Kimball Public Schools has begun accepting resignations for the coming year. At the March 13 Kimball Board of Education meeting two such resignations were accepted, that of Jordan Sukup, pre-Kindergarten, and kindergarten teacher Nora Robinson, with more to follow, according to school superintendent Marshall Lewis.     The Kimball boys finished second and the girls ninth, leaving them in third place at Monday's Tri-State Track Invite held at Creek Valley High School in Chappell. Bridgeport won the boy's division with 144 points with Kimball runner-up with 99.     The Kimball High boy’s golf team opened the season this past Thursday, competing in the Gering Quad, nine hole tournament. This tournament wasn’t on the regular schedule but Kimball Activities Director Ken Smith saw it as an opportunity to give the Kimball team one more chance to get some competition. Gering hosted Scottsbluff, Kimball and Mitchell for the late afternoon nine hole play that allowed each school to play as many golfers as they wanted with the low four scores from each team used to decide the team scores.     Despite the cold weather, Kimball High got a golf tournament and a track meet in this past week. The golfers played in a four-school Quad Tourney at Gering with just a nine hole format and despite not having their number one golfer, Jordan Greenwood, and despite just having four golfers while the larger schools played seven and eight, they were just 3 strokes from winning it all.     The Kimball County Commissioners approved a contract for a Deputy County Attorney at the March 21 Board of Commissioners meeting. The contract was given to the firm of Ellison, Kovarik & Turman, instead of just one attorney. It will be up to this firm to assist County Attorney Dave Wilson in prosecuting Kimball County cases.     During the most recent Kimball Board of Education meeting the board updated the standards by which all school leaders are evaluated.
