    There are more potential improvements to come at Oliver Reservoir in the coming months including, improvements to the boat ramp and a dump station is in the works according to Galen Wittrock of the South Platte NRD.     GED classes are up and running smoothly in Kimball. Classes started the first week of April. “We have eight students right now attending classes,” said Daria Faden, Kimball’s instructor. New students interested in joining must go through enrollment first, then will be able to attend orientation during the first week of the month.     Senior volunteer hours are needed at the Senior Center, one-on-one helping seniors. The Aging Office of Western Nebraska is looking for members and non-members ages 60 and up to volunteer to help other seniors. Volunteer requirements include; valid drivers license, valid insurance, a physical and a commitment to volunteer four hours a week.     Donkey Ball was a real kick in the pants, fun for all ages with Donkey Rides at half-time for the younger kids, and the contagious laughter that filled the Kimball High School gym. 631 tickets were sold with 437 of those being pre-sale tickets, and not included in the total amount were, of course, all the little ones who were not charged to get it.     Kimball County Weed Department will be getting another pickup to spray weeds this coming season. The County Commissioners opened one sealed bid for the purchase of one used 4x4 pickup for the weed department at their regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The only bid received, from Wolf Automotive, provided a used 2012 Chevy Silverado, automatic, three-quarter ton, extended cab, long box, gas pickup with 93,154 miles on it for the price of $15,749.
