During high school Gingerich attended and played football for Potter-Dix. Graduating in 2014 he decided to join the Kimball Ambulance Service, the Dix Volunteer Fire Department, as well the Army National Guard, he attended basic training that same year.   • Local shoe drive helps more than 25 countries and raises funds for community improvements

    Shoe Drive was a success for the community of Kimball. 135 bags of shoes were collected over the past three months. Last Wednesday was pickup day, volunteers filled Beer and Loathing to help load the shoe bags into the truck, but, of course, it was just loading the shoes that help was needed for. Bags upon bags, boxes or donations, came to the local establishment for the shoe drive, many hours were spent sorting and pairing shoes.     Beloved basketball player, “inventor of the Jump Shot”, coach and great hardworking man, was honored last Friday night at the Arena-Auditorium on the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie. Kenny Sailors was actually born in Bushnell, on Jan. 14, 1921. I have tried all my sources to find out where about it Bushnell, but no luck.     Lady Coyotes split games last week, Win over Creek Valley and a Loss to Hyannis. Potter-Dix played host to Creek Valley, last Tuesday, when they got another win on the season. Creek Valley took the first set with a score of 25-11, Potter-Dix won the second set 25-23, and the third set 25-22, Creek Valley took the fourth set 25-15, but the final fifth set came down to a two point game 16-14 to win the match 3-2.     Kimball ended the 2017 season 10-20 over all and 2-6 in district. Senior Hannah Biesecker, finished the season with 294 kills, 166 points, 175 digs, 61 ace serves, 37 blocks and eight assists. Senior, Justine Heeg, ended the year with 327 assists, 109 points, 48 kills, 27 digs, 16 ace serves, and four blocks.     According to Nebraska State Patrol, a Trooper was in search of a stolen vehicle, shortly after 11 p.m. Monday night, when he spotted the said vehicle, east of Chappell in Deuel County. The suspect was traveling in the stolen vehicle, at mile marker 48 near Brownson, the suspect wrecked the vehicle and left the scene on foot, law enforcement agencies were unable to apprehend the suspect. Morrill took the first set with a 25-22 victory but the Lady Coytoes battled back to win the last three sets with scores of 25-11, 25-13, and 25-21.     The James L. Eatmon Masonic Lodge and Kim Bowl hosted their innaugural Nine-Pin No-Tap Tournament on Saturday, Oct. A total of 61 bowlers competed this two day, four round tournament, with single and doubles divisions for men or women as well as a combination. Coach Johnson said all of the Kimball athletes ran really well and all tried their hardest. “Sadly none of them qualified for state,” she added.     Officer Mike Winget of the Kimball Police Department responded to a disturbance of unknown nature near Fifth and Jefferson streets on Sunday Oct. 1, just before 11 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, Winget was approached by Caleb P.
