    Just like years past the Kimball Co-Ed Softball League came to an end Friday night, July 28, under the lights with Team Autolok coming out on top for the 2017 regular season, followed by High West Energy in second.     It will be a busy day at the Whartman Arena next Sunday, with their last gymkhana of the summer series, as well as hosting another NBHA NE 05 barrel race to follow after. Gymkhana times have changed because of the start time of the barrel race. Entries will open at 9 - 9:45 a.m. with events starting at 10. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is investigating a report of a mountain lion spotted at the lake.     Never ending weeds here in Kimball County, Rick Wangler, County Weed Superintendent, addressed the board at the Commissioners meeting Tuesday, July 18. Wangler stated he feels like he’s taking one step forward and two steps back trying to keep up with spraying as well as inspections this summer.
