The Kimball County Ambulance Service and Kimball Health Services now have additional equipment to better help save lives. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, senior students at Kimball High were offered the chance to apply for their choice colleges in the computer lab with Kimball High School counselor Chauncey Petersen. The event is part of a statewide Apply2College Campaign sponsored by the Education Quest Foundation. The Kimball County Commissioners received an update on the county ambulance service at Tuesday’s meeting. According to Carla Goranson, ambulance director, the ambulance crew received a total of 49 service calls in the month of September, ranging from falls to seizures. The total amount of charges to patients for the month of September was $23,055.25. The total to date for this year was $302,055.25. St. Joseph’s Respect Life Walk with be held this Sunday, beginning at 11a.m. at the Catholic Church. All walks of faith are invited to attend. According to event chairperson Kim Baliman, the walk is to bring awareness that all life should be respected and that every life matters, whether it be the elderly, special needs, the young or the unborn. Karen is the third generation of her family to work and operate Larsen's Jewelry Store. She began working for her parents part-time while still in high school in 1951. Given that she has worked in her present location of LorRon's Department Store for just over 50 years, Lorna Evelyn said that she has obviously has really enjoyed the retail business in Kimball. In 1965, Lorna along with her late husband, Ron Evelyn, began working in their store which at that time was known as Hartung's Department Store.
