What an incredible day we had on Bushnell Day! Even though the temperature was higher than I would have liked, it was a great day. We had a wonderful turnout and it seemed that everyone enjoyed the day! The first annual cow tongue football was a success thanks to all the people willing to participate, Jovan Mays for stepping in to officiate and to Twin City Packing out of Gering for the donation of the cow tongues. The Lincoln Highway, much of which mirrors U.S. Highway 30, has recently been named as a National Scenic Byway. In mid-February, the Federal Highway Administration announced 49 new designations to the America's Byways collection, including Nebraska's 450-mile-long border to border Lincoln Highway Scenic and Historic Byway. This past month has managed to pass by quickly, even if I didn’t have any idea what day of the week it was all month! Working from home has presented plenty of challenges, but has also let me find some creative outlets. I have enjoyed creating digital stories about the High Point, a short grass prairie presentation with Shaun Evertson, and an area photo contest.
