A good showing by the Kimball High Wrestling Team at last week's SPVA Tournament held in Grant. Garrett Pedersen brought home the gold medal by winning the 126 pound weight class and appears to be primed for this weekend's District Tournament to be held at Bridgeport. • Mitchell Girls Run Past Kimball 71-15, suffer losses to Sutherland and St. Pats

    Tom Southard|Feb 1, 2018

No surprise that the Kimball girls lost to visiting Mitchell this past week, and no surprise that they won easily, as the Lady Tigers are undefeated on the season and ranked number 2 in the state class C-1 rankings. They ran past the Kimball Lady Longhorns 71-15 and despite the lopsided score, they run up these kind of figures on most everyone they go up against. It was a big night for Mitchell's big post player with 6'2" junior Keyana Wilfred putting on a show for the fans, and for the...

On Saturday night they were at Both Platte to face the St Pats Irish and once again gave up 50 points losing 50-32. Their record now stands at 4 wins and 11 losses as they head into this week's Western Trails Conference Tournament play. The Horns came...

Coach Klent Schnell helped me out with some stats of his Kimball Junior High Wrestling Team so we can give you readers a recap of the recent 2017 season. Schnell said, “We started out with 11 wrestlers and finished with 8 due to injuries, transfers and eligibility. I believe we should have at least 15 young men out for wrestling at the junior high level. We had some kids that had never wrestled and they showed some great potential the first couple of meets, and we wrestled our best, as a team, the first half of the season. We didn’t get to hol...
