    A turnout of 18 golfers participated in Sunday’s One-Person Scramble held at the Four Wind Golf Course, and Mitch Brown emerged the winner with his round of 53, using a 100% handicap system for all golfers. Dustin Bowron was runner-up with his round of 54 with Dave Lukassen 3rd with the same score of 54 and Doran Bush was 4th with 55.     Shawn Nagel, Kimball High's most illustrious wrestler of all time, who went onto wrestle for the University of Nebraska on scholarship, is still competing! The young man who now resides in Lincoln after graduating from UNL, has decided he still has a fire to compete on a National Level and has gone into Cross Fit Training, which is running, lifting, and biking.     Still a lot of golf being played in our area and it is going to get even busier now that the Kimball High girls opened up their season this past Tuesday and have a total of four tournaments in August alone. Today, Thursday, the Kimball High ladies are at Bayard and next Tuesday, August 29, they will host their own tournament. August 31, they go to the Creek Valley Tournament.     The 26th annual Kimball Hospital Foundation Golf Classic was held this past Saturday at the Four Winds Golf Course and was termed "A Huge Success" by Kerry Ferguson, the man in charge. A total of 112 golfers, or 28 four person teams, enjoyed the nice day that dampened a free golfers at the tail end of the day when a brief rain storm swept through, but there were no complaints.     Some exciting local golf news this week. Let’s start with Dillon Wise and his Hole-in-One this past Saturday July 29. Dillon, at age 16, and heading into his junior year of High School, scored his first Hole-in-One, and did it on Hole number 15, which is a par four! I don’t recall anyone else ever doing this on a par four hole at least since the course has been expanded to the current 18 holes of play! Dillon was playing with Ethan Greenwood when he got his ace.     A field of golfers turned out for the Ladies Panhandle Senior Golf Tournament Monday at the Four Winds Golf Course. The format of the day was a 4-person scramble and some of our local Kimball ladies fared well. Alene Schilz was a member of the winning team that shot a handicap score of 56.98. Jean Barrett and Judy Brighton were both on the second place team that shot 60.50.     The Kimball Junior Golf Program has been busy attending Panhandle Junior Golf Tour events. At Torrington in the boy’s 10-12 grade division, Tristen Zitek emerged the winner with his round of 69 with Dillon Wise second with 71 as both shot under par with some great golf played.     A big weekend of golf is on tap at the Four Winds Golf Course as it’s time once again for the Three person Father’s Day Scramble. Golfers will be teeing off at 12 noon on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday, so open golfers be sure and call the Pro Shop for open golf times.
