    The 2014-15 season for the Kimball High girls basketball program may have come up a bit short of the expectations of coach Chauncey Pedersen with 11 wins and 13 losses, but there were some positive achievements, and the future looks bright.     Jonathon Withrow and Enrique Cajero signed their letters of intent to attend Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota this week while their families and Kimball High football coaches looked on.     The Kimball girls lost 53-37 to state ranked Hemingford on the winner's home court this past week with turnovers leading to Kimball's downfall. The Lady Longhorns gave up the basketball 33 times on miscues with the Lady Bobcats turning many of those turnovers into baskets.     The Kimball boys ran up against a red hot Hemingford ball club this past week and came up on the short end of the stick losing 56-34 to the number 10 C-2 state ranked Bobcats. The hosting Bobcats jumped out to a 17-3 first quarter lead with Colton Stull's lone trey basket all the points the Horns could muster in that time frame.     Kimball High freshman, Clay Keller, won the 132 pound championship at the SPVA Conference Wrestling Tournament held at Grant this past week. With the win Keller ran his season win-loss record to 24-3, the mark he will take into this week's district tournament being held at Mitchell. Keller won all five of his matches at the conference tournament, four by fall and one by injury default.     The number 4 seed Kimball girls had an easy first round win over number 5 seed Bridgeport winning 70-46 in a game played at Kimball, but then fell to number 1 seed Mitchell in semi final play 52-40 and lost to Gordon-Rushville 67-49 in the consolation game for third place honors.     The Kimball boys lost a heart breaker in first round play of the WTC Conference basketball tournament falling to Mitchell 43-40 in overtime. The Longhorns were the number 5 seed and had to travel to number 4 seed Mitchell for their Thursday night contest and it was a battle from start to finish.     What a week for the Kimball Junior High boys as both the 8th and 7th grade teams won championships at the Morrill Tournament. The 8th grade team is undefeated at 6-0 coming into this week’s play. At Morrill they won 39-33 over Bridgeport with Zane Anthony high with 11 points, Brady Kilgore and Izaac Reuter had 8 each, Colton Mielke and Corey Travis 6 each.     Kimball's Clay Keller claimed the championship in the 132 pound weight class at the 18 team Mitchell Wrestling Tournament this past weekend as the Longhorns finished 11th in the team standings with 40 points. Sidney won the team title with 222.5 points with Gothenburg a distant runnerup with 156.5 points. At Sutherland on Friday night the Kimball boys had no problem in winning a two quarter contest 38-20 with Jordan Greenwood scoring 13, Ethan Land 10, Jaden Withrow 8, Jaicob Cole 6, and Ryan Soper 1.     Senior Rowdy Keller and freshman Clay Keller brought home silver medals and runner-up top finishes from the Lingle-Ft. Laramie Dogger Invitational Wrestling Tournament this past weekend.     The Kimball High wrestlers hosted Lingle and Southeast this past week and had perhaps their best outing of the season to date according to coach Wade Brashear.     A good week of basketball for the Kimball High girls as they went 3-0 in this time frame and ran their season record to 8-4. It started on Tuesday of last week in a home game for the Lady Longhorns hosting D-l Potter-Dix and winning out 52-29.
