    The Banner County Lady Wildcats faced both Hay Springs and Hemingford on Tuesday, Sept. 5, for matching 2-0 losses. These losses could have been easily avoided, according to coach Angie Hilbert, who attributed them to a lack of communication and simple errors.     The Banner County Lady Wildcats opened their season at home on Friday, Aug.25, against the Cody-Kilgore Cowgirls. Sets began with the junior varsity teams facing off for a quick three sets that ended the JV season opener with a 3-0 loss for the Lady Cats with varsity play immediately following. Though they played hard, the varsity team also lost in three sets, 25-11, 25-10 and 25-10, struggling with their opponents’ cut shots.     Running a new course caused a bit of trouble for the Kimball High School cross country team as they opened their season at the Riverview Golf Course in Scottsbluff on Thursday, Aug. 24.     The Banner County School Board will accept bids for a new or slightly used 14 passenger bus, this was one decision made when the board met on Monday, August 14, 2017.
