A trip to downtown Kimball to run a few errands turned into a potential nightmare and a daring rescue for 92-year-old Helen Kuhlman of Kimball. On Friday, Jan. 22, Kuhlman left her Park Terrace apartment for some personal errands and decided first to stop at the Kwik Stop to get gas in her 1993 Buick LeSabre. The Kimball County Ambulance was called out on the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 20, to assist a woman who had called 911 believing that she was suffering from a diabetic episode. Kati D. The Kimball Landfill has experienced more trouble from aging equipment according to a report given to the Kimball City Council by City Administrator Daniel Ortiz. Steve Pinkerton of Prestige Manufacturing began making repairs to the bailer that is housed inside the large shop. “It’s really showing its age,” Ortiz said. “It started operation out at the landfill in 1998 but we purchased it used.” Landfill supervisor Jim Schulte said the bailer dates back to between 1972 and 1975 and handles, on average, 3.5 to 4 million pounds of waste annually....
The community within our community – the Kimball Manor residents – enjoy the "Winter Olympics" held on Jan. 21 in the manor's dining room. David "Charlie" Person, 85, of Pine Bluffs, Wyo died January 23, 2016 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was born November 13, 1930 in Kimball, to David and Doris (Moyer) Person. Issues concerning Kimball County’s noxious weeds stem back to August, 2015, when Dave Hottell, County Highway and Weed Superintendent, reported to the Board of Commissioners that major changes were needed. The Kimball High boys fell to a couple of strong opponents during SPVA Conference Tournament play this past week. In first round play they travelled to Bridgeport, the eventual champions, and lost 67-25, and in a first round losers bracket contest on Friday at North Platte the Horns lost to Hershey 68-31.
