The Board of County Commissioners voted to take legal action regarding the Tallgrass Pony Express Pipeline, LLC at their February 4 meeting. Cars lined the streets as residents descended upon the Harry McNees Auditorium at the Kimball High School to pay their respects to Bruce Evertson, the morning of Saturday, February 8. At the meeting they received an update on the ongoing rail spur project as well as information concerning Marketing Hometown America. Bruce F. Evertson, 64, of Kimball, died on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Kimball High School Auditorium. Danyne Rice Killham, 85, of Bumpass, Virginia, died in Palmdale, California, on January 30, 2014. Danyne was born in Laramie, Wyoming, on March 3, 1928, the second of six daughters and one son born to Daniel and Helen Ellis Rice. She was raised in Kimball, Nebraska. After two years at the University of Wyoming, she taught elementary school, later receiving her degree when she was in her 40s. LaVern John Frederick passed away December 21, 2013 in Queen Creek, Arizona. Cremation has taken place and a life celebration will be held at a later date. LaVern was born in Kimball, NE on August 14, 1923 to Louis and Josephine (Tex) Frederick. He was raised in Kimball and graduated from Kimball County High School.
