    Significant utility savings were reported since the City of Kimball had an energy audit preformed at the Kimball Event Center, according to the City of Kimball’s Project Coordinator Amy Sapp during her report to the Kimball Board of Public Works on Tuesday, May 2.     Kimball Public Schools will be welcoming another new educator in the coming school year fooling their regular meeting on April, 27, 2017. Jarrod Williams will begin classes in the 2017-18 school year as the new Computer and Business Technology teacher at both Mary Lynch Elementary, as well as the High School. Williams was hired to replace Shari Lindgren, who will be retiring following the completion of the current school year. Board members also approved a trip to Orlando, Fla., for the music department.     Police Chief Andy Bremer would like to remind citizens that large items cannot be put into or next to dumpsters in the alleys of Kimball. Large unwanted items must be hauled to the Kimball Landfill. Many items are accepted at the local landfill free of charge to residents that already pay landfill fees through utility bills.     Homestead Exemption applications are due by June 30, 2017 according to Kimball County Assessor Sherry Winstrom. For some the Homestead Exemption program may provide relief from property taxes by exempting a portion or all of the value of the home from taxation.
