“What can we as community members do to thank your community’s veterans?” This is the question asked by Kimball County Commissioner, Daria Anderson Faden. Learning more about military culture and becoming better prepared to serve the veterans in the community is an important first step. They put their life on the line for our freedom, let’s help them transition back into civilian status and thrive in this community with training, education and by allowing them to communicate their needs, personal, as well as family needs, Faden suggest...

Raymond Little (Ray) spent most of his growing-up years in Fort Collins, CO. He was a scrappy kid, whose household could have been a little warmer. When he was seventeen, he had quit high school. His mother sent him to the Post Office in Fort Collins and Ray was soon taken by a recruiting poster. It was a large picture of Uncle Sam pointing one of his fingers at the reader. The quote on the paper was “I want You in the US Army”. Ray inquired of the recruiter about joining and the recruiter made it easy… just have your parents sign the form...
The 2015-16 basketball season for the Kimball High boys was a losing season as far as wins and losses go, but it will be remembered also as a season of aggressive play and all-out effort! The Longhorns ended up with 7 wins and 14 losses. They were hampered by a lack of height and had to make up for it by playing very aggressive on both ends of the court, using pressure defense and fast paced offense, along with some outside shooting which worked fine on nights when the shots were falling, but not so good when they weren’t. Among the h...

Coach Chad Wise also has a good turnout for the boy’s golf team with 11 at the time of this writing and still possible additions here as well. Boy’s golf should be strong this year wit...
