    Mary Lynch Elementary students were the highlight of the recent Kimball School Board meeting, with presentations from the PBiS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports) Leadership group and the State Stock Market Game winners at the March 12 board meeting.     Following up on a January meeting to gather ideas for park improvements, the City of Kimball has planned a meeting to review cost estimates for some suggestions. According to a recent press release, many great ideas were received and the City needs public input to prioritize park improvement projects.     With the region’s largest mental health provider closing doors throughout the Panhandle, Region 1 Behavioral Health has begun preparing for the transition. Region 1 has partnered with Panhandle Health Group and have scheduled three Consumer Focus Group meetings at the Cirrus House Conference Room, located at 23 East 15th Street in Scottsbluff. The meetings are scheduled for March 20 from 10 a.m. to noon, April 18 from 1 - 3 p.m. and May 22, from 10 a.m. to noon.     He might be little and silly but he is also your new 2018 Nebraska USA Wrestling State Champion from Kimball, Trajan Johnson! Johnson won the trip to State with a fourth place district placing in Bridgeport a few weeks ago. Johnson wrestled in the Prek-K 49-50 pound 8-man bracket.     The Kimball High Track Team opened the season this past Saturday at the Chadron State College Indoor Invite and had a pair of individual winners bring home gold. With a reported 497 athletes, all competing in one class, Brady Kilgore and Hannah Biesecker took the top marks in their favorite events. Kilgore captured the winning time in the 55 meter hurdles, clocking 8:28 seconds after running 8:25 in the prelims.     You could term the 2017-18 Kimball High Wrestling season as being one of short on numbers, but long on effort. Coach Wade Brashear had only 6 wrestlers for most of the season, before Toby McManigal joined the team late after recovering from health problems. There were highlights, of course, along with the disappointments. The top highlight of the year has to be junior, Jordan Cluff, qualifying for the State Tournament, and then winning a couple of matches at the Big Show in Omaha.     Ten members of the Dead Eye Shooters 4-H Club participated in the Nebraska State 4-H BB Gun and Air Rifle Match held in Beatrice on March 17 – 18. Over 100 youth from across the state met for shoulder to shoulder competition in the BB Gun & Air Rifle competition. In the BB Gun Division, youth complete a course of 40 record shots in 4 positions – prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5 meters.
