The Nebraska Lottery tweeted that a lucky person in Kimball hit the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot on Saturday night. The winning $280,000 ticket was purchased at Vince’s Corner. The ticket matched the winning numbers 04, 07, 11, 13 and 29. Nebraska Lottery has yet to confirm the winner’s identity. The coronavirus has cancelled the "big" annual Easter Egg Hunt usually held at Kimball High School, but thanks to Dawn Hickman, Bob Hinton and families there will be many "little" Easter egg hunts at Kimball, Bushnell and Dix homes. This is a great service to the community in this unsettling time, and the tradition of the Easter egg hunt will continue. William H. Russell Jr., 84, of Kimball, died at his home in Kimball on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Following Bill's wishes, cremation has been held and no services is scheduled at this time. All of the sanctioned season sports still on hold so not much to watch, and or, write about, but golf is being played at our Four Winds Golf Course and despite rather cool weather, a few hardy souls have been out getting some very fresh air.
