    Of the hundreds of kids in four age groups who scrambled from behind the starting line to collect more than 2,000 Easter eggs at the Kimball High School practice field, only four were lucky enough to find grand prize slips inside their eggs.     Rick Wangler, Kimball County Weed Superintendent, recently attended the Nebraska Weed Control Association’s Spring Training, held at the Ramada Inn, Kearney, on April 3-4, 2019. This was the second opportunity for required continuing education in 2019.     Last week, the crews made progress on the retaining walls, pouring the southeast wall and the footing for the northeast wall. Crews will continue to work on the retaining walls along the east side of the project.     Brady Kilgore had another outstanding day at Mitchell this past week in the combined George Calvert Invitational Track Meet and the Western Trails Conference Track Meet, and was voted Most Valuable Male Athlete by the participating coaches.     Kimball's Dillon Wise played himself into a three-way playoff for individual top honors at the Scottsbluff Country Club Course. Wise, along with Ethan Cates of Cheyenne Central and Blake Danni of Cheyenne East. All shot 75 to end in a three-way tie for medalists, forcing playoff holes.     The Kimball High boys golf team got its first win of the season in capturing the team title at the Morrill Invitational Tournament this past week. The Longhorns scored 338 to win by 12 points over the second place hometown Morrill Lions, who finished with 350.     Kimball hosted its Junior High Track Invite this past week and finished 7th in both boys and girls divisions. The Kimball boys scored 37 points while the Kimball girls ended up with 19 points. Bridgeport won the boys team title with 103 points with Mitchell a close runnerup with 98, followed by Hemingford with 62, Bayard 56, Pine Bluffs 44, Perkins County 39, KIMBALL 37, Lingle-Ft.
