Donald Gene Onigkeit, 62 of Kimball, Nebraska passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home after a five-year battle with cancer. As Kimball took the field at home Thursday, June 1, the young Legion players didn't seem quite ready for their first game against Bridgeport. Kimball had the better bats than Bridgeport and played good defense but when it came to pitching, the local athletes struggled to find a good rhythm. Ben Aarestad has been hired as the new Head Football Coach at Kimball High and this past week arrived to start implementing his plans for the program which includes open weight room nights.
