    July Fourth was a fun-filled day in Kimball with the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department, Kimball Connect, and Friends of the Library working all morning to the delight of families. Hundreds of people enjoyed the festivities. The cheerleaders sold hot dogs and Main Street Market supplied the watermelon.     The Kimball County Commissioners held their regular bimonthly meeting on Tuesday, July 5. Starting Aug. 1, the Kimball County ambulance will be operated by Kimball Health Services. The subject had been discussed at previous meetings. Action by the commissioners was taken to mutually cancel the ambulance agreement between Kimball County, Kimball Health Services and and Regional West Medical Center, which began in December 2016.     Bertha Gladys Sandberg, 101, formerly of Albin, Wyoming, died Tuesday, June 28th at Cottonwood Creek in Cheyenne. She was born September 8, 1920, at the family farm in Banner County, Nebraska, to Floyd Leland Barrett and Minnie Mae Reed Barrett.     DARIA ANDERSON-FADEN / the observer Kimball's Yard of the Week remained in the Sunnyview area this week as Dale and Gretchen Green were selected for their perfectly polished lawn and flower space. Gretchen said that she planted all the flowers from seed. Cosmos and elephant ears are her favorites.     Kimball Longhorns trap team members and a travel partner from Potter-Dix are competing this week at Nationals in Mason, Mich. The Longhorns are Justin Klosterman, Nolan Cook, James McGinnis, Kambree Hottell and Cameron McGinnis. Representing Coyote Nation is Dawsen Monheiser.     Week 4 for the Kimball Women's Golf Association was NWAGA Play Day. Payton Wise shot a 46, which won low gross, and low net winner was Dar Evertson with a 33.
