After months of investigating the best course of action, the Kimball Board of Education authorized School Superintendent Marshall Lewis to purchase the materials needed to seal the stadium. “At this point the estimate is $25,000 to $35,000. That is our best guess at this time,” Lewis said. “We don’t know how much we are going to need.” In addition to the undetermined amount of product necessary for the job, Lewis expressed concern that the bleachers are wood wrapped in aluminum. “We have no idea what the wood underneath might look like,” he s...
The reward for information leading to the arrest of individuals responsible for the June 22 vandalism of City and personal property in Kimball has increased to $750. Cheif Andy Bremer believes those responsible are likely connected to similar incidents in the past and the matter is still under investigation by the Kimball Police Department. Anyone with...
Get your organic locally grown produce, Tuesday evenings from 5 - 7 at Gotte Park. Owen and Natalie Elders of Kimball have started a small farmers market to help encourage the community. “This is not money making, we want to encourage everyone to bring out some of their own produce from their gardens,” Owen said. He added that since Kimball does not have a farmers market the couple wanted to do this to help add to the community. Their produce comes from the small market garden at their home north of Kimball. “Everything is beyond organ...

To the Good People of Kimball, This past Thursday, a sizable number of out-of-towners visited your town to attend the funeral of our family member (niece, cousin, god daughter, …) Erin Aerni. As Pastor Boltjes noted to the attendees during the service, it felt like the entire town of Kimball was grieving with us, supporting us, welcoming us, consoling us, and celebrating a life-cut-too-short with us. Family came from Kentucky, Indiana, Texas, one – who was in the states from Japan – was able to make it, and that is just the Zuehlke side. I am...
Due to unfortunate email issues within our office, which we are attempting to resolve, several important legal notices were missed and failed to print this week. This is through no fault of the entities required to publish the notices. These notices are a priority for our advertisers and our consumers, and they are governed by state statutes. For these reasons, any legal notice that is not printed is of huge concern to all. The South Platte Natural Resources District, the City of Kimball and Kimball County were all affected this week and were...
