"She loves me." Nine-year-old Makynna Boettcher is talking about her 5-month-old Nubian milking goat that she will be showing in her first 4-H fair at the upcoming Kimball-Banner County Fair. Plans are in the works for the All Class Reunion on Farmer's Day weekend next year – September 25, 26 and 27, 2020. The All School Reunion Committee is working closely with the Farmer's Day committee to make use of the Farmer's Day activities and then expand those activities to the reunion, so there will be plenty of things for people to do. Adam Patrick, the new superintendent at Potter-Dix Public Schools is moving from the eastern part of Nebraska to the far southwestern corner to accept his first superintendent position. "People (back east) tell me, 'Oh, that is clear out there,'" he said of their reaction to his move. "I believe that people are people. Gene Golding was hurrying around last Friday, but he said harvest was "not in full swing yet." He said that there is quite a bit of green wheat still out there. Dumping a load of wheat in his semi, Justin Perry said they were cutting wheat southeast of Kimball. He said he has been "pleased so far" with the wheat. The first annual Rockabillaque event in Kimball is in the books. Amy Sapp, economic director of the city of Kimball, said the Poker Run through the Panhandle had 18 motorcycles and 2 classic cars show up. Jean Gilbert-Cole won the best hand, Spencer Morgan won the worst hand, and Bob Sisk won the bug run. Willis Alton (Tony) Herman, age 78, passed away July 18, 2019, in Omaha. Tony was born to Willis and Oletha Herman on November 17, 1940, in Scottsbluff, NE. He grew up and received his education and graduated from Mitchell High School. Tony graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. He was accepted and graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law and while in law school he was part of the Nebraska Law Review.
