    The village of Potter held their annual celebration this past weekend. Potter residents, as well as members of the surrounding communities, gathered in the streets to celebrate their community. The theme for this year's Potter Days was "Potter, A Toy Story". The celebration kicked off on Thursday evening with the crowning of the Potter Days Miss Potter.   • Committee discusses rail spur project funds

    On August 21, the Economic Development Committee held a joint meeting with City Council to discuss the economic development plan and what to do with the funds that had been purposed for the no longer feasible rail spur project. Back in April, a public meeting was held in order to hear input pertaining to the .4 percent tax and whether or not it should still be collected.   • Kimball students show improvement in NeSA test scores

    The Kimball school district has spent the last year trying to bring up its test scores. With the results of this past spring's Nebraska State Assessment (NeSA) finally available, it shows just how hard the school worked. "We set goals for the testing.     Irene J. Nelson, 87, of Bushnell, died at Kimball Health Services on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014.     The Kimball High Longhorn Football Team opened the season with a 30-16 win on the road to Gordon Friday night and coach Nick Kuxhausen was pleased with the effort of his team. "I was very happy with how clean we played.     Kimball High girl’s golf coach Nora Robinson has only two girls playing tournament golf at this time but her two seniors are really stepping up as indicated by their performances in the first two tournaments. Jaycie Walker shot a career best round of 99 to finish 7th in the bigger school Division one at the Sidney Tournament on a tough Hillside Golf Course, then came right back to shoot 99 again at the Bayard Tournament to capture first place by 7 strokes.
