    Mrs. Amy McManigal's 6th grade students begin each year learning about life cycles, birth rates, death rates, populations and ecosystems. These large lessons capture the students' attention because they are taught in an small incubator. On Sunday, Sept. 3, two dozen chicken eggs went into McManigal's incubator and students anxiously wait for them to begin hatching, generally in 21 days.     The Red Knights motorcycle club have out-done themselves again, with a fund raising event this past weekend. “The Red Knights were amazing, like always, and were such a big part in this fundraiser,” said Carrie Wynne of the Kimball Ball Board.     The inaugural community-wide garage sales were a huge success according to organizers at the Kimball Banner County Chamber of Commerce. Hundreds of visitors from neighboring communities and states came to Kimball to shop. Shoppers came from Mitchell, Morrill and Ft. Collins visited local citizen Geneva Withrow’s sale. Withrow said that Dairy Queen, Kwik Stop and other local businesses were packed with extra traffic throughout the day.     David Lloyd Stecks was born on May 2, 1937 in Kimball, Nebraska. His parents, Lloyd and Zoe Stecks of Bushnell, Nebraska have predeceased him. David graduated from Kimball County High School in 1954 and worked in wheat farming with his father for several years. He then moved to Seattle, Washington where he worked at Boeing.     The Lady Longhorns headed to Mitchell last Thursday, Sept. 7, for a golf tournament.     The Banner County Lady Wildcats faced both Hay Springs and Hemingford on Tuesday, Sept. 5, for matching 2-0 losses. These losses could have been easily avoided, according to coach Angie Hilbert, who attributed them to a lack of communication and simple errors.
