Two people were arrested Monday night after law enforcement was called to a disturbance on Interstate 80 near the Wyoming border. The Kimball County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a domestic disturbance on I-80 near mile marker five just after 9:30 p.m. Monday. KCSO Sergeant Brandon Loy responded, according to Sheriff Harry Gillway, and upon arrival observed the suspect vehicle. He made contact with a female driver, Kyanna Wolf, 26, of Amberg, Wis. The Kimball County Commissioners received an update on the county ambulance service at Tuesday’s meeting. According to Carla Goranson, ambulance director, the ambulance crew received a total of 49 service calls in the month of September, ranging from falls to seizures. The total amount of charges to patients for the month of September was $23,055.25. The total to date for this year was $302,055.25. On Monday, Kimball Airport Authority Board Chairman Jason Lockwood, along with Kimball Mayor Keith Prunty, dedicated the Kimball Airport Flight Center to Dr. Don and Mary Gerner, formerly of Kimball. This Sunday’s 60-minute movie will tell the story of a Nebraska decorated veteran who served as a gunner in 58 missions during World War II. Several layers of shingles were removed and new roofing installed on what was once the original Kimball High School. The repairs were paid for by a combination of fundraisers and endowments and Hays Roofing, owned by Shane Hays, of Kimball, was granted the job following an open bid procedure. St. Joseph’s Respect Life Walk with be held this Sunday, beginning at 11a.m. at the Catholic Church. All walks of faith are invited to attend. Rhonda Green has been in business for 27 years, buying her salon, Ducktails Unlimited, in 1988 following cosmetology school. Her business originally began in the little building east of what is now Bemis Drug Store, but Green moved to Chestnut Street several years ago. In 1965, Lorna along with her late husband, Ron Evelyn, began working in their store which at that time was known as Hartung's Department Store. A good solid week of volleyball for the Kimball High Lady Longhorns topped by a runnerup finish at the SPVA Tournament held at Ogallala. The week started off with a trip to Imperial to face the Chase County girls. Fans were treated to some exciting volleyball with the host school winning in five sets. The visiting Hershey Panthers ran back the opening kickoff 82 yards for a quick go-ahead touchdown and never looked back in piling up a 54-7 win over the hosting Kimball High Longhorns this past Friday evening.
