The Potter Railroad Park revitalization project is nearing completion, with final installations to take place within the next few weeks. This project has been ongoing since a survey was conducted in 2018 examining user satisfaction with Potter recreational facilities. The survey indicated that respondents would like to have improved shelter and picnic facilities as well as access to restrooms in the Railroad Park that is located west of Chestnut and Front Streets in the Potter downtown area. Nyla Jean (Robinson) Bailey was born November 18, 1956, in Kimball, NE to Robert (Ed) and Bettyann (Vavra) Robinson. She passed away in Laramie, WY on October 14, 2019. Nyla graduated from Kimball High School in 1975. She became the proud mother of son Eric Deon Robinson and beautiful daughter Traci Dawn Robinson. She lived in California and Virginia. The fall sport season is fast coming to a close! The Kimball High girls golf season has already ended with Payton Wise taking third place and Katie Heeg qualifying in her first year with the sport. The cross country will wind up tomorrow (Friday) with Chantel Malson running at Kearney. The football ends tomorrow (Friday) when Kimball hosts Bayard for Homecoming. Kimball High sophomore Chantel Malson is the Longhorns' lone qualifier for this Friday's Nebraska State cross country meet to be held at the Kearney Country Club Golf Course. The talented young distance ace finished in 10th place at last week's District Class D meet to qualify as an individual. Sutherland dominated in their 80-18 win over the Kimball High Longhorns in 8-man football action Friday night at the Sutherland site. The winners jumped out to a 22-6 lead at the end of the opening quarter of play and led 64-12 at halftime after scoring 42 second quarter points. They coasted to the 80-18 win with a running clock the entire second half. The Kimball Longhorns lost 2-0 to St. Patrick's-North Platte by scores of 8-25 and 11-25 before turning in more competitive performances Saturday against Bridgeport and Perkins County in the SPVA conference tournament.
