    The first game after the Christmas break for the Lady Longhorns was a trip to South Platte on Tuesday, January 1. Kimball started out strong and stuck with the hosts, staying within 10 points for the first three quarters, but could not overcome them in the fourth.     The Coyote basketball teams opened 2024 with a challenging task, games against rivals Bayard and South Platte. The boys team was able to grab wins in both contests, while the Lady Coyotes struggled with losses in their first contests of the new year.     The Kimball City/County Park and Recreation Executive Board voted unanimously to borrow $182,500 at 5.35% interest to drill a well and repair Four Winds Golf Course’s largest pump.
