  • Season Ends For Potter-Dix In Quarterfinals

    Nov 9, 2023

The Potter-Dix Coyotes football season is over. The perennial post-season team in recent times ended the season at 9-1 with a crushing playoff loss to visiting Parkview Christian on Friday, Nov. 3. The scored was 51-0, a most uncommon outcome for the Coyotes – unless they're on the other side of this kind of point total. It marked the second straight year that P-D has lost in the quarterfinals. The defeat also ended a 10-game streak home win streak. But there was a bright spot. His name is D...

    Mike Motz|Oct 26, 2023

POTTER-- For the fourth straight year, the Potter-Dix Coyote 6-man football team has ended its regular season undefeated, and is ready to battle through the playoffs in hopes of a State Championship. Although there was some talk prior to the season about how the team would handle the graduation of All-Star Luke Kasten, those that followed the team closely knew that for all of Kasten's brilliance on the field, the Coyotes were not a one-note team reliant upon one superstar for success. And as...

Garden County put up two touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions to score 16 points in the first quarter, while Potter-Dix’s offense had trouble getting on track and onl...

Good morning and Happy September! Wow did we ever have rain this past Sunday. Puddles everywhere. Hopefully that will help with the next plantings. Did anyone make it to the Horizon Music Festival this past weekend? I was lucky enough to go for a while on Saturday and know the stage lights were still on Sunday, rain and all. I was just wondering if the full lineup of artists were able to perform. I sure hope so. What I did see was great and I hope this becomes an annual event. Here is another question for you: Do you know what the Honor Flight...

  • Be Careful Out There On The Roads This Harvest Season

    Barb Cross, The Observer|Aug 10, 2023

Good morning, nice to have a few cooler days this week. The combines are still all over the place, some fields are finished and some have not started. Be careful out there, the roads are narrow and the harvest equipment is wide! I know of one fellow that went under a header because there was no where for either of the vehicles to go, so up and under! Fairs are coming to a close and boy have the rubber check races seen some bad luck this year. In Bridgeport a few weekends ago an accident with a horse, rider and hay bale was not good. The rider e...

On Monday in the FVC office, the harvest crew was training for the long days of...

For the last four years, the Panhandle area sports scene has been dominated by the best athlete in the region, Luke Kasten of Potter.
