    The Kimball boys cross country team placed third at the Run at the Rocks-Bridgeport Invite after the Kimball Invite. The team was just 2 points out of first place. Following that nice showing, Kimball XC has a meet today (Thursday) at Ogallala, then next week at Gothenburg, and Oct. 12 at the D-6 district meet.     A month remains of the regular 2023 volleyball season for the Kimball team that on Monday evening enjoyed a taste of victory as the Kimball JV won over the Banner County varsity in a close 3-2 match. It was great way to open homecoming week. Kimball has five home games between now and the end of the season. On Tuesday, Kimball played against Hershey. Next up, Kimball's varsity (0-8) will play Hay Springs and Leyton at Dalton, and then Creek Valley on Monday, September 25. Future home games...

    The Kimball Invitational Cross County meet had teams from across the region, including the Panhandle and Wyoming. The meet was held on a beautiful day, Friday, Sept. 8, at the Four Winds Golf Course. Shannen Acheson was the lone Kimball participant in the girls 5 K.     The Kimball Longhorns football team had a reason to celebrate Friday night, at the expense of the Warrior team from Leyton. It was the Longhorns first home win since the end of September 2018, which gave the rebuilding program a greatly needed shot in the arm. The Horns are 1-1 on the 2023 season.     CRAWFORD – Potter-Dix's Coyote football team continued its strong start to the 2023 season, breezing past the Crawford Rams on the road Friday, September 1, by a final score of 69-31.     The Longhorn girls golf team is well into the season with the Kimball Invite their third meet of the season. On Wednesday this week, the girls played at Creek Valley and on Sept. 7 they head to Mitchell. In just three meets the scores are dropping rapidly.
