Kimball qualified 20 individuals for National Trap on July 7 and 8 in Mason, Michigan. But with the national popularity of the sport only one team and five individuals from Kimball were able to get registered. The Four Winds Women’s Golf League began its season on May 31 with 11 teams. The first-week winners were Shellon Anderson with 16 putts, Pattie Klinginsmith with a low gross of 42, and Jan Bashaw’s low net of 33. There were no flag prizes. Pattie Klinginsmith retook low gross in Week 2 with a 43, and Charlotta Young had low net with a 33. Charlotta Young had a hole out on #16 and had only 13 putts for the nine holes. The area’s Class D schools sent their NSAA State Meet qualifiers to Omaha for competition on Friday and Saturday, and that included a set of qualifiers from Potter-Dix. Kimball's Kyler Lusche shot an 85 on Tuesday, the first day of the NSAA State Golf Tournament at Elks Country Club in Columbus. Lusche teed off on number 1 at 9:30 a.m. Central Time and ended up being tops in his foursome. The individuals Lusche was paired with shot 90, 93 and 99. On Monday, Kyler Lusche placed ninth at the C5 district golf tournament in Kimball on May 15 at the Four Winds Golf Course. After missing most of the season with a back injury, Lusche shot a 39/42 for an 81 to earn a trip to the state meet in Columbus on May 23 and 24. Kimball Junior High had a great track season with about 60 kids out for the season. On Saturday, the season ended with the Nebraska Championship Meet in Gothenburg. Qualifying for the meet were eighth graders Derek Russell in discus and Trey Cook, Clarika Hottell, and Carly Norberg in pole vault. Seventh grader JaLeigh Bohac qualified for the meet in the discus.
