The Kimball Lady Longhorns are heading toward subdistricts with a 3-20 overall record and a district record of 0-4 as of Tuesday afternoon. On Tuesday, the ladies played Perkins County. The 2nd Annual Antelope Stampede Gravel Bike Adventure/Race took place on September 17 in Kimball, starting and finishing in Gotte Park. Courses of 100, 50 and 25 miles were offered and participants came to Kimball from Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. Homecoming Week for the Longhorns began with volleyball at Haxtun on Tuesday, followed by District cross country at Bridgeport on Thursday and football on Friday at home against Bayard at 6 p.m. On Saturday is the SPVA volleyball tournament in Grant. Potter-Dix’s Lady Coyote Volleyball team continued its outstanding season with two more wins, raising their season record to 19-3 as they ready for District Tournament play later in the month. The Lady Coyotes traveled on Tuesday, October 4, to match up with the Kimball Lady Longhorns, and the home team got the jump on the visitors, surprising the Lady Coyotes with a 25-18 first set win. Potter-Dix's Coyote football team continued their undefeated season on Friday night, traveling to Chappell and shutting out the struggling Creek Valley Storm team in a lopsided 79-to-0 contest. The win moves the Coyotes to 6--0 on the year, while Creek Valley remains winless at 0--7. Another step forward in the Kimball Longhorns football program's comeback is within reach this Friday night at Hemingford. A road win. "We've obviously had our struggles, but I think we've been improving slowly but surely," coach Darrell Howitt told the Observer. As the fall sports season draws to a close, the Longhorn cross country runners participated in two meets in less than a week – Thursday at Gothenburg followed by the WTC meet on Monday. Kimball junior high girls received second place in the Western Trails Conference championship meet in Hemingford. WTC highlights include Emmaline Tabor’s 10th place finish and Trey Cook’s 8th place. Tiffany Johnson is in many places, from the fairgrounds to the Farmer's Day Fun Run and many spots in between. Tiffany graduated from Kimball High School in 2002, has taught at KHS for the past 16 years, and is an integral part of many school and community activities. Potter-Dix's Coyote Football team continued its unbeaten season by routing the Sioux County Warriors 63-0 in Hjarrison on Friday. It was another outstanding offensive and defensive performance by the Coyotes, who jumped out to a 13-0 lead at he end of the first period, then piled on another 30 points in the second quarter to open a 43-0 lead at the half and initiate a running clock. The Kimball Longhorns football team, a group that’s looking for positive steps in its comeback season, takes its rebuilding program on the road this Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Morrill. It was a beautiful cool day for the 2022 Kimball XC Invitational at the Four Winds Golf Course. The invite combined middle school and high school runners from eastern Wyoming and the Panhandle of Nebraska. Junior Shannen Acheson was the lone Kimball female runner. Four Winds Golf Course hosted the 2nd Annual Kimball Longhorn Wrestling Golf Tournament on Sunday, Aug. 28. There were 16 teams playing in the 4-person scramble event.
