Potter-Coyote Track and Field teams traveled up to Scottsbluff on Tuesday, April 26, to compete against the best athletes in the region at the annual Best In The West Classic. The Potter-Dix Coyote Track and Field teams had a busy week, competing at the Storm Twilight Meet at Creek Valley High School on Tuesday and the Kendra Roeder Invitational at Pine Bluffs High School. The Creek Valley Twilight Meet was rescheduled from the previous week due to high winds, and the athletes had much better conditions on Tuesday for the competition. Two senior girls provide leadership for the Kimball track team – Kaitlin Heeg and Tianna Stierwalt. Heeg has high exceptions for herself. The Kimball Longhorn Trap Team is in its second year of existence with coaches Brittany Cook, Kelly Dunegan, Sean Dunegan and Jeremy Fryda leading the team of 7-11 graders. Practices have been delayed due primarily to the wind, but also the cold has made it difficult to practice. According to the coaches, everything is scored from now until the end of the season. The Dead Eye Shooters 4-H Club competed at the 2022 Nebraska State 4-H BB & Air Rifle Match in Mitchell last weekend. The Dead Eyes were represented by 13 BB competitors and 6 Air Rifle competitors. The kids were coached by parents and club leaders Larry and Nicole Snyder. The BB match was held on Saturday, with over 120 kids participating from across the state. Coaches have been selected for the 2022 West Nebraska All-Star Football Game – among them Potter-Dix’s Dale Frerichs. This marks the 44th year for the game. It will be played 7 p.m. June 11th at Bearcat Stadium in Scottsbluff. Brent Bauer from Ogallala will lead the West team. It's time for some Philly Cheesesteaks for Kimball's national qualifying pool team. Kimball's team Ballin' Bombers from the Trails West Pool League (TAP), won the titleholder event in Scottsbluff in mid-March.
