    Kimball's Lady Longhorn basketball team travelled last Tuesday to take on the Potter-Dix Lady Coyotes in Potter, and quickly broke out to a big lead in the early going. Both teams had problems getting the ball in the basket in the early going, but for Kimball it was shots not falling through the basket and for Potter-Dix it was an inability to get the ball past half court.     The Potter-Dix Coyotes boys basketball team had a busy week with three games and came out with two wins. Their record improves to 9-2 as they enter the MAC Tournament this week as the No. 1 seed. On Tuesday, the Coyotes hosted the winless Kimball Longhorns, and the high-powered Potter-Dix offense overwhelmed the visitors in a 66--11 win.     The Kimball Longhorns boys basketball team’s record went to 0-11 after outings this past week against Potter-Dix, Bridgeport and Gordon-Rushville. On Jan. 15 the young squad lost a home non-conference game against Gordon-Rushville by a score of 64-21. Leading Kimball was Kyler Lusche, who went 6 for 12 in two-point field goal range and ended up with 13 points. Wyatt Cords contributed 6 points and Connor Deboodt 2.     Chase County 75, Kimball 25 The Saturday, Jan. 8, game saw a young Kimball Longhorn team come out and get a few early baskets but were not able to keep pace with the Chase County Longhorns. Scoring the first 2 points in the second quarter the young Kimball team found themselves down 10-20.     The Coyote basketball team made a trip down to Caliche, Colo., on Saturday, and came away with a convincing 67-51win over the Buffaloes.     Payton Wise recently signed a letter of intent to golf at Chadron State. Attending the signing at Kimball High, from left, are her father Chad, brother Dillon, Payton, brother Breckin and mother Jennifer. Payton will continue her golf career after medaling at State each of her four Kimball seasons.
