The Potter-Dix Coyote basketball team has started well so far this season, with two relatively easy wins as the boys settle into the basketball season. Potter-Dix hosted Creek Valley on Friday and had no trouble opening up a big lead then continuing their momentum for a big win, 62-23 to start their season. Despite dropping their first game of the season, the Kimball Lady Longhorns quickly rebounded and took their next two contests to start their season strong. Britton and Decker Culek wrestled in Colorado Springs on Nov. 5 and 6. They competed in the King of the Mountain dual tournament on Victory Training Center club team of their uncle Kyle Schnell, a Kimball graduate and former Kimball wrestler. Kimball Lady Longhorns golfer Payton Wise has recevied another award. She's All-State. Wise, who placed third at State last month, was voted onto the 2021 Nebraska Coaches Association All-State Team. The Potter-Dix Coyotes are the No. 1 ranked team in D6, and face the No. 13 ranked Spalding Academy Shamrocks in the semifinal round of the NSAA D6 play offs on November 12 in Spalding. The Halligan Agency hosted the Nebraska State RSNC Finals this past weekend in Kimball at the Y3 arena. Champions were crowned in four divisions based on points won throughout the year competing in Nebraska. There were a total of 10 shows offered in the state in 2021. Potter-Dix's Coyote football team finished out its regular season with an 80-16 rout over Creek Valley, earning its second straight D6-6 title and undefeated regular season. The Coyotes' swarming defense held Creek Valley to minus-27 yards rushing while forcing four turnovers. For the fourth time in as many years, Chantel Malson ran in the Nebraska State cross county meet. The Kimball Lady Longhorns volleyball season ended Monday as the team fell to Bridgeport in straight sets in subdistrict action.
