Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Congratulations to Kimball High School’s November Student of the Month, Jamie Hansel.
Throughout Hansel’s high school career, she has participated in Student Council, National Honor Society, Volleyball, Basketball, One Act, Speech, High School Quiz bowl and Publications earning experience, letters and awards in all. Hansel was in volleyball for four years; lettering all four years, and participated in basketball two years.
She has been a member of Student Council her Freshman, Sophomore and Senior years, and was inducted into National Honor Society last year due to her grades, service and leadership qualities. These qualities earned her the ranking of Team Captain for this year’s Speech team in which she has been a member for the last three years. Her sophomore and junior year Hansel was awarded Academic All State in Speech and was voted by the team Best Actress for the 2012 speech season. She has also been a member of the One Act team her junior and senior year, lettering each year and winning the award as Outstanding Actress at District One Act competition this year.
Also, Hansel was a member of the Quiz Bowl teams her junior and senior year.
In addition to all of her extra-curricular involvement she has maintained a GPA of 3.977 and is ranked 2nd in her senior class. Hansel plans on attending the University of Wyoming and majoring in Kinesiology and Health Promotion.
As Student of the Month, she will receive a $25 gift certificate from the Lion’s Club and is now eligible for a $500 Lion’s Club Student of the Month Scholarship to be presented yearly to one of the “making a difference” winners.
