Chadron State College conferred degrees to 181 graduates during two commencement ceremonies Friday, December 14.
Graduates from the region:
Travis Harrison, Harrisburg, Bachelor of Arts.
Kristen Juelfs, Potter, Bachelor of Science in Education.
The 114 bachelor’s degrees were conferred in the Armstrong Physical Education Building, and the 67 master’s degrees were presented at Memorial Hall.
The commencement speakers were Dr. George Griffith, CSC professor of English and humanities, and Dr. Ron Hull, senior adviser to Nebraska Educational Telecommunications and professor emeritus of broadcasting for the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln granted degrees to some 1,500 students at commencement exercises December 14 and 15. The graduates included:
Kimball: Troy Lee Unzicker, Division of Graduate Studies, doctor of education .
Potter: Sean Michael Rogers, College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, bachelor of science in mechanized systems management .
The graduates are from 34 states and 28 countries.
Chris. R. Calkins, professor of animal science at UNL, gave the address at the graduate degree ceremony on December 14; Jeff Zeleny, the national political correspondent for the New York Times, gave the address at the baccalaureate ceremony on December 15; and Judge Michael W. Pirtle of the Nebraska Court of Appeals gave the address at the law ceremony on December 14.
