Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Great scores were rolled during the December Bowler of the Month Tournament.
Mike Crow’s 741 handicap series topped them all; his 681 scratch series with a high game of 265 proving too high to overcome.
Teresa Anthony and Jennifer Reinninger fell only 18 pins shy though; both with a handicap series of 723 to tie for second and third. Anthony’s high game of 225 added to her 540 scratch series. Reinninger’s high games of 194 and 186, helped her gain her 516 scratch series.
Marshall Barnes, bowled above his average every game with a final high of 188 and ended with a 709 handicap series to place fourth. Fifth place went to Dave Lukassen with his 707 handicap series--a 584 scratch series with three above-average games (180, 194, 210).
Bruce Sigette placed sixth with a 680 handicap series. His final game of 181 gave him a scratch series of 479.
The top six bowlers qualify for the end-of-year roll-off. Since two bowlers (Reinninger and Sigette) had already qualified, Doug Barrett, with a 670 handicap series (154, 196, 191); and Jeff Anderson, with a 667 handicap series (213, 153, 184) also qualify for the Bowler of the Year Tournament.
Ninth place went Dale Aurich with a 664 and tenth to Gloria Cook’s 660. Another tie for eleventh and twelfth place went to Bill Gawith and Pauline Pile, both with 657 series.
Clay Keane, with a 266 game; claimed thirteenth place with a 655 series.
Other bowlers who have already qualified for the Bowler of the Year Tournament are: Lynn Anthony, Jeff Thorson, Bob Kellner, Ty Garrett, Les Reemts, Wayne Pile, Darrell Snyder, Mitch Brown, Tonia Copeland, and Andy Barrett.
Each week, the high handicap series of each league qualify for the Bowler of the Month Tournament. The next Bowler of the Month Tournament will be February 2.
