LaVera Fields

LaVera K. Fields, 82, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Monday, January 28, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 with Pastor Amanda Esping officiating. Burial will be held in the Kimball Cemetery. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.

LaVera K. Fields was born in Barton County, Kansas on September 20, 1930, the daughter of Pete and Anna (Herdt) Schneider. She moved with her family at the age of 12 to Russell, Kansas, where she graduated from high school in 1947. She was married to Earl Fields in Russell on October 20, 1946. They moved to Kimball in 1955. She went to work for the Kimball County Hospital in 1965 and continued to work there until her retirement in 1997. She loved to hunt and fish and spend time crocheting.

Survivors include her son Mark (Christie) Fields of Orange Park, FL; daughter Sandra (Bill) Warden of New Castle, TX; brothers Clarence Schneider of Russell, KS and LeRoy Schneider of McDonald, KS; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Earl and Randall; three brothers and one sister.
