Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Last weekend’s WTC Conference Track and Field meet at Bayard didn’t go according to plan for the Kimball Longhorns, as they finished fifth overall, as well as in both the male and female team scores.
However, 13 teams or individuals place in the top three of their respective events, which kept the Longhorns in competition throughout the day.

On the boy’s side, senior Caleb Reuter finished third in the men’s 800 meter with a time of 2:05.00, which was just over two seconds behind the first place finisher - Levi Avila of Mitchell.
The Kimball mens 4x100 relay team placed third behind Bayard and Morrill. The team is made up of Jake Reader, Reuter, Kenny McNeil and Angel Flores. The team finished with a time of 47.58.
Two of the top three finishers in the varsity mens pole vault were from Kimball, with both Austin Pile and Javier Figueroa putting up heights of 11-00.00.
