Max R. Tracy

Max R. Tracy, 80, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Hospital on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Virgil Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Max Ray Tracy was born in Mankato, Kansas on May 4, 1933, the son of William and Mamie (Murray) Tracy. He moved to Nebraska with his family where he attended school. He was married to Cleta Joyce Bourne in Hardy, Nebraska on December 23, 1951. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. After being discharged, Max worked as a truck driver for Coca-Cola and also had various other over the road truck driving jobs. He worked as a mechanic and then later went to work for Courtesy Ford in Denver transporting cars. He retired in 2006 and then moved to Kimball. Max enjoyed bowling, spending time with family, fishing and camping and enjoying a rodeo. He also enjoyed racing.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Tracy of Kimball, NE; son Max (Chris) Tracy of Kimball, NE; daughters Karen (Roy) Theorine of Kimball, NE.., Becky (Mike) Flores of Kimball, NE., Berneda (Matthew) Clement of Denver, CO., Debbie (David) Pritchard of Thornton, CO., and Jean (Terry) Lankford of Gurley, NE; 23 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Arthur, Frank, Leo, Bob and his twin brother Rex.
