Patricia K. Dunkin

Patricia K. Dunkin, 60, of Kimball, died at Sterling Regional Medical Center in Sterling, Colorado on Saturday, August 17, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Kimball Presbyterian Church in Kimball with Reverend Amanda Esping officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view the obituary and leave condolences for the family. Memorials may be given in Pat’s memory to either the Boy Scouts of America or the American Cancer Society. The services for Pat have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Patricia Kay Dunkin was born in Sterling, Colorado on November 19, 1952, the daughter of Carl and Betty (Schilling) Moehr. She moved with her family at an early age to Kimball and attended the Kimball Public Schools. She graduated from the Kimball High School in 1971. She worked at the Dog and Suds and then Montgomery Wards. She then worked for Schadegg Oil and also drove a school bus for the Kimball schools. Pat was married to Robert (Sparky) Dunkin, Jr. in Kimball, on August 1, 1988. She worked for the State of Nebraska Roads Department for 25 years. Pat loved bowling, working with the scouts and was assistant scout master. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at the beauty shop. She had a tremendous love for her family. She was proud of her children and grandchildren. Family was a major part of her life and that importance could be seen in the way she cared for her sister. She was very thankful for the love and compassion that was shown her during this time.

Survivors include her husband Sparky Dunkin of Kimball, NE; sons, Michael (Amy) Schadegg of Sterling, CO., and Robert Dunkin, III of Kimball, NE; daughter, Christine Schadegg and life partner Michelle Banks of Omaha, NE; brothers Mike (Mary) Moehr of Kimball, NE., Doug (Lana) Moehr of Forgan, Ok., and Alan (Kristy) Moehr of Ft. Morgan, CO; sister Deborah Moehr of Kimball, NE; grandchildren Haley, Carley, Jori, Rylea and Morgan; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Kay Hutchinson, Barb Bowron and Jeri Rutledge. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Josephine and brother Steve.
