Fern V. Chambers

MANDERSON, WY

Manderson resident Fern Victoria Chambers, 62, died on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland.

Fern was born on August 20, 1951 in Arcadia, Nebraska, a daughter of Howard Leroy "Hap" and Velma Rose (Mars) Applegarth. She was raised in the Kimball, Nebraska area and graduated from Kimball County High School in 1969.

She married her sweetheart Dennis Lee Chambers in Kimball, NE on June 7, 1969. The couple made their home in Kimball until moving to Colorado in 1974. In 1978 they moved to Evanston, Wyoming where she worked at the Wyoming State Hospital and studied nursing. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse and continued to work for the state hospital.

In the 1990's, she worked as a nurse for Mountain Regional Services, in Evanston, until moving to Manderson with her family in 2004.

Fern then became employed as a nurse at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center until 2012.

Fern enjoyed many hobbies such as needle point, sewing, quilting, knitting, canning vegetables, and had a great passion for making ceramic items

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and a well loved friend to those who knew her. She will be truly missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by three infant siblings.

Fern is survived by her husband Dennis L. Chambers of Manderson, WY; by her sons Dennis Lee (Lori) Chambers Jr. of Spokane, WA, Troy Alan (Bugs) Chambers and Jeffrey Daniel (Lindsey) Chambers both of Manderson, WY; by her brothers David (Lori) Applegarth of Evanston, WY and Howard (Tammy) Applegarth Jr. of Manderson, WY; by her sisters Julie Hall of Boone, NC and Jean Huddleston of Saratoga, WY; and by ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place, and the family will hold a memorial service this coming spring of 2014.
