Funeral services for Dawn Elaine Williams, 66, were held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Dick Taylor presiding at the service.
Dawn Williams died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at her home in Douglas of natural causes.
Dawn was born June 2, 1947 in Kimball, Nebraska the daughter of Chester Harold "Bud" and Mary Elizabeth (Addleman) Taylor. She was raised and educated in Kimball. She had held a certified nurse assistant (CNA) certificate in Nebraska and Wyoming. She worked at Michael Manor, now known as Douglas Care Center, in Douglas. She was the flag foreman for Rissler-McMurry Construction of Casper, Wyoming for a few years. She owned and operated the Whistle Stop Variety Store in Douglas from 1996 to 2004. She also had worked in the family bar, Prairie Schooner, in Edgerton, Wyoming.
She enjoyed gardening; traveling; mystery books, shows, and movies; playing cards; and dancing, especially the jitterbug.
She is survived by her children, Lesa Pratt of Douglas, Dayna Pratt and Denise Pratt both of Texas, Donald Pratt Jr. and Natasha Frazier both of Douglas; siblings, Bertie(Karen) Taylor, Sharon Elsberry, and Thomas Taylor, and Harley Taylor all of Casper, Wyoming, Gary Taylor and Terry Taylor both of Rawlins; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and companion, Bob Williams of Douglas.
Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Bud, on February 8, 1985; mother, Mary, on November 18, 1984; youngest brother, Allen Taylor; and one great grandson.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
A memorial to the Meals on Wheels in care of the Douglas Senior Citizens' Center, P.O. Box 192, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
