Jessie E. Lehmkuhl, 94, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor Assisted Living on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Kimball Cemetery with Pastor Amanda Esping officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view the obituary and leave condolences for the family. In Lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Kimball County Manor Assisted Living. The services for Jessie have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Jessie Elizabeth Lehmkuhl was born in Lena, Nebraska on December 17, 1919, the daughter of Archie and Grace (Kruger) Stoddard. She grew up in the Hull Community of Banner County, Nebraska. She attended school at District 9 and graduated from the Harrisburg High School in 1939. Jessie was married to Roger Lehmkuhl on April 19, 1941 at Gering, Nebraska. They lived in Kimball, where she worked as a custodian for the Kimball Public Schools from 1960 to 1978.
Survivors include her daughter Karen McCarty of Westminister, CO; brother Earl "Bud" Stoddard of Gering, NE; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Jessie Delores Brown, brother Albert "Mike" Stoddard and sister Margaret Bloom; 2 great grandchildren.
