Billy L. Biesecker, 76, of Dix, died at his home in Dix on Friday, June 6, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastors Donald Bleyle and Deanna Bleyle officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view the obituary and leave condolences for the family. Memorials have been established to the Dix Community Improvement and Awareness, Dix Fire Department, or donor's choice. The services for Bill have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Billy LeRoy Biesecker was born in Eaton, Colorado on January 18, 1938, to Eugene and Laura (Johnson) Biesecker. He moved with his family to Dix in 1943. He attended school in Dix and graduated from the Dix High School in 1957. He worked for the UP Railroad and Nusbaum Construction for a short time before beginning his long career with Z&S Construction. He was a master welder for Z&S until the time of his death.
He was married to Patricia Bleyle in Scottsbluff on June 24, 1962. Together they had four children. Bill was a wonderful father and grandfather and was an avid supporter of his family. He loved attending his children and grandchildren's numerous events. He was an accomplished welder and made many iron sculptures in his spare time, including trees, mailboxes, and large characters. Bill enjoyed watching sporting events, especially basketball and the Denver Nuggets. He took pleasure in researching his family genealogy, appreciated history, and loved visiting historical places.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Biesecker of Dix, NE; children Deena (William) Hall of Brookline, NH., Devin (Michelle) Biesecker of Roca, NE., Drew (Sheryl) Biesecker of Kimball, NE., and Derek (Lori) Biesecker of Potter, NE; grandchildren Nicole and Alyssa Hall, Cailey, Delaney, and Kennedey Biesecker, Madison, Hannah, and Sydney Biesecker, and Reagan and Jaxon Biesecker. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Beverly Barker.
