Vivian M. Willoughby, 98, of Cheyenne, died at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center on Sunday, August 10, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Virgil Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Potter Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view the obituary and leave condolences for the family. Memorials may be given to the family's choice. The services for Vivian have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Vivian Marjorie Willoughby was born near Spurgeon, Colorado on August 30, 1915, the daughter of C.P. and Anna (Larson) Herboldsheimer. She graduated from the Potter High School in 1933. She attended Chadron State Teachers College and received her teaching degree. Vivian taught for two years in rural Cheyenne County schools. On October 21, 1934 she married Francis E. (Hank) Willoughby of Burns, Wyoming in Colden, Colorado. Three children Gene, Dean and Marjorie Ann were born. Their first ten years were spent ranching south of Potter. From 1945 and on, Francis and Vivian worked together building and operating Point of Rocks Grain Elevators, Inc. in Nebraska and Wyoming. These were sold in 1971 and 1972 to Wrtight-Lorenz Grain Co. of Salina, Kansas and the Pillsbury Grain Co. of Salt Lake City, Utah. The Hi-Way and Bi-Way Gospel Ministries, Inc., a Soul Winning Ministry was raised up in Cheyenne, Wyoming in April of 1977. Francis and Vivian, along with family members and many, many others from all parts of the country have had the joy of sharing in and working together in the Ministry for years. The ministry has extended into many foreign countries. Vivian was a member of the Dix Bible Church of Dix, Nebraska.
Survivors include her son Dean (Sherryl) Willoughby of Pine Bluffs, WY; daughter Marjorie Ann (Frederick) Duffus of Littleton, CO; daughter-in-law Shirley Willoughby of LaGrange, WY; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother Kinley Herboldsheimer of Portland, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gene, two grandchildren, great grandson and six brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
