Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Operation Christmas Child boxes must be returned by Nov. 24

The deadline to fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child is approaching. They must be filled and turned in by Nov. 24.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of the Samaritans Purse organization, and provides toys, clothes and more to needy children around the world.

Lori Widener said the Kimball site provided 152 shoeboxes a year ago, and hopes to donate even more this year.

Locally, the filled shoeboxes may be dropped off at the Kimball Evangelical Free Church between Nov. 17 and Nov. 24. The church will be open for dropoff between noon and 2 p.m. Nov. 17-23 and 10-11 a.m. on Nov. 24. There will be shipping labs and boxes available onsite. A list of suggested donations to include in the shoebox is included below. For more information, call 308-241-0751.
