Truck overturns at roundabout

A Sidney man was injured Tuesday when a tractor trailer hauling beets that he was driving tipped over while going through the Kimball roundabout. Robert Johnson was maneuvering the tractor trailer through the roundabout when the trailer went up on the curb and caused it to roll, said Marla Knigge, chief deputy of the Kimball County Sheriff's Office. Johnson suffered serious injuries and was transferred to a Scottsbluff hospital. Knigge said she did not think speed was a factor in the accident, and once the trailer went on the curb, its weight caused it to tip over. Kimball County Sheriff Harry Gillway said this is the third accident since the roundabout opened. He said he plans to request that the state complete an engineering study on the roundabout.
