A tough second quarter put Potter-Dix behind early and the Coyotes could not recover in a 52-40 loss at Paxton last Thursday to open the football playoffs.
The Coyotes took a 12-6 first quarter lead, but the Tigers outscored them 34-0 in the second quarter. Potter-Dix trailed 40-12 at halftime.
Potter-Dix got back into the game in the third quarter, outscoring Paxton 20-6 to cut the deficit to 46-32. The Coyotes outscored the Tigers 8-6 in the fourth quarter, but could not inch back any closer.
The Coyotes close the season with a 5-4 record. It was their second loss of the season against the Tigers. Paxton won 55-32 in a Sept. 29 game at Potter-Dix. The Tigers are now 5-4 on the year and advance to take on top-seeded Anselmo-Merna on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
