Christmas Special: Many local businesses decorate for Christmas

Kimball is a town that really enjoys doing things well in the Christmas cheer arena.

The hard work begins with the Kimball Banner County Chamber of Commerce, which promotes shopping locally plus other contests to keep up the Christmas spirit. There is also the "Parade of Lights" committee that puts many hours to kick off the season each year. Then there is the efforts of all the businesses around town that try to boost that Christmas cheer.

Each year, many businesses all over Kimball decorate their shop windows in order to brighten up the holidays. When walking down Chestnut Street, one can really take in a glimpse of all the lovely displays that have taken over the various windows.

One display that a lot of people look forward to is the one at Larsen's Jewelry. A whimsical upside down Christmas tree adorned with red ornaments and ribbon hangs in the main window at this prime gift buying location.

If that was not enough in the additional windows of the store a white Christmas has taken over. Feathered Christmas trees and a light up reindeer are complimented by paper snowflakes that spin and hang delicately from the ceiling.

The unique display presented by Larsen's truly adds to the Christmas shopping experience.

Many other businesses also get into the Christmas spirit, such as the beautiful displays at The Vogue, the chamber of commerce office and the Decor Store, just to name a few.

These lovely and lively displays are not simply limited to Chestnut Street. No, the Christmas cheer carries clear over to Carol's Nutlist over on 3rd Street.

Not only do the crew over at Carol's Nutlist put up decorations, they put out Christmas specific product that really catches the eye. Gift baskets in the shape of sleds add the holiday atmosphere that is being projected by the candy-filled room.

It takes the staff roughly two weeks to be prepared for the holiday season and to have the display up and ready.

Kimball projects its Christmas spirit very well and it can be seen everywhere from the city offices to the markets, and even down 3rd Street where every light post is lit with a special Christmas touch for all to see.
