Lady Wildcats drop 2 in Sioux County tourney

The Banner County girls basketball team dropped games to Crawford and host Sioux County at the Sioux County tournament over the weekend.

Crawford 61, Banner County 15

Crawford (9-1) jumped out to the early lead and went on to defeat Banner County, 61-15, on Friday.

The Lady Wildcats trailed 16-6 after the first quarter and 38-9 at halftime.

Paige Cross and MaKenna Dahlgrin scored six points each to pace Banner offensively. Dahlgrin also led the team with seven rebounds.

Sioux County 45, Banner County 31

Sioux County (4-5) used a strong third quarter run to put Banner County away in a 45-31 win on Saturday.

Sioux led 27-15 at halftime when it outscored Banner 15-1 in the third quarter. The Lady Wildcats (1-7) roared back in the fourth quarter, outscoring Sioux 15-3, but the comeback was too late.

Dahlgrin led the team with eight points and 12 rebounds. Ashlynne Hanan and Cross chipped in with six points each, while Shay White added 11 rebounds.

The Lady Wildcats host Hay Spring on Friday and travel to Hemingford on Saturday.
